Magical History Tour

The 2019 Magical History Tour: From Cushetunk to Minisink is scheduled for Saturday, June 15 to coincide with the NYS Paths Through History Weekend.

This year’s tour leaves from and returns to the municipal parking lot just west of Main Street in Hurleyville.
Registration will start at 8:30 a.m.
The tour will start at 9 a.m. with a short walk along the Milk Train Trail in Hurleyville to view a few of the new interpretive signs erected along the trail this month.
The bus will leave immediately thereafter, and will visit a number of old hotel sites, several hamlets, and Sullivan County’s D&H Canal Linear Park and Interpretive Center in Phillipsport before returning to Hurleyville at 3:30 p.m.
Lunch will be provided.
Topics for discussion this year include the O&W Railway, farming, the resort industry, gangsters, the Liberty Highway, the D&H Canal, and at least two major fires. 
Narration will be provided by Sullivan County Historian John Conway and other experts.
Tickets for the tour are $45, including lunch, and must be purchased in advance. Seats will not be reserved until payment is received. Checks should be made payable to The Delaware Company.
