NACL, in Highland Lake, NY, presents a staged reading of the play “Mercedes: Para los Callejones” by Modesto ‘Flako’ Jimenez.
An homage to his grandmother, who raised him and who he cared for through her battle with dementia, Flako’s play traces one woman’s impact across generations, exploring matriarchy, memory, identity, and the complex inheritance of familial and cultural trauma.
The reading will be presented primarily in Spanish with English translation.
