Take a day trip to the Kadampa World Peace Temple in Glen Spey, NY for our 10th Annual Fun Fair on Saturday June 2nd 11 a.m.- 5 p.m.
Admission and parking is free.
Enjoy this community extravaganza featuring an all day concert, more than 40 artist vendors, fresh vegetarian food and juice bar, and a variety of activities for people of all ages and backgrounds.
The all day concert will showcase both local and regional musicians including Mike Zichella, Cathy Paty and Company, Larry Zampino, Anjimile, Queen Bee and The Hive, and Mar Malade Melodies, making for an eclectic mix of musical genresof live instrumentals, Country, Acoustic, Indie, Motown, Reggae and more.
Named River Reporter’s “Best Meditation Center,” spend the entire day relaxing and exploring the 82 acres of natural beauty including three onsite nature trails. Inside the The World Peace Temple drop into a guided meditation and temple tour offered hourly throughout the fair or peruse the gift shop and Buddhist Bookstore. The World Peace Cafe & Espresso Bar features organic, locally roasted coffee and will be offering gourmet desserts and treats as well as views of the pristine natural surroundings.
Kids and families are welcome and can enjoy an entire day of entertainment for children. The kids carnival features a bounce tent, fair games, kids hike, storytelling, sing-a-longs, and various craft tables. Bubbles the Clown will be blowing big bubbles with the kids, making balloon animals and performing a magic show at 1:30 p.m. Affordably-priced vegetarian meals will be served all day.
Visitors are also welcome to make a weekend of it to fully experience all that the Kadampa World Peace Temple has to offer.
On Sunday attend a meditation class and teaching called “Prayers for World Peace” (by donation) and kids can drop into the “Meditation for Kids” class ($2) both held from 11:00 a.m – 12:30 p.m. At 1:00 p.m.. will be a community vegetarian lunch ($5) and sit in on group chanted meditations held at 2:00 p.m. Take an additional day to explore the beautiful grounds onsite.
