Even if you’ve never read one, you can probably close your eyes and envision the cover of a romance novel from the 80’s and 90’s. What most do not know is that these covers were first rendered as large, beautifully crafted oil paintings.
Sharon Spiak of Barryville is one of a very small handful of artists who created these covers. By the year 2002 the digital age eliminated this skilled work making Sharon’s collection rare and irreplaceable.
Sharon will talk about her career, about painting the covers and the people she worked with (think “Fabio”). She will bring samples of her work and a slideshow of the process.
